About Us
At Cutting Edge Tree Professionals, we don’t just trim trees—we lead the industry with purpose, passion, and professionalism. Based in Central Pennsylvania, we’re a locally owned, Christian-founded company known for our values of Teamwork, Integrity, and Excellence.
We're in the business of growth—both with our people and our impact. As we expand, we need a Fleet Maintenance Manager who
...
’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves, fix what’s broken, and build something better from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
This is not a sit-behind-the-desk role (albeit there is plenty of computer work.)
It’s for someone who thrives in the shop, on the phone, and under the hood.
You'll manage our small but mighty fleet of 24 major units (trucks, trailers, and eqiupment) and other small engine repairs, oversee one other team member, and take charge of the systems that keep our trucks rolling and crews earning.
Shift times for this role requires a minimum of 3 working hours per day, outside of the 7-5pm window.
In other words, a shift of 4am-2pm or 10am-8pm. Alternative shift time requests will be considered on a case by case basis.
Your role includes:
• Performing hands-on diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on trucks, trailers, chippers, cranes, and heavy equipment. (A fleet of 25 trucks, trailers, and equipment. Also various small engine and powertools equipment)
• Managing and improving a fleet maintenance schedule—minimizing downtime and maximizing reliability.
• Leading your 1-person maintenance team, training them to work smarter, safer, and better.
• Communicating with vendors, repair shops, and parts suppliers like a pro—getting what we need, when we need it.
• Using digital tools (repair cards, logs, and service software) to keep the team aligned and informed.
• Being the go-to problem solver when equipment throws us a curveball.
• Keeping the shop organized, tools secure, and standards high.
What We’re Looking For
We’re not just hiring a mechanic—we’re looking for an improver, a leader, and a trusted partner. Someone who:
• Has 5+ years of hands-on heavy equipment and truck repair experience
• Is comfortable leading others and enjoys coaching teammates
• Loves taking ownership—and isn’t afraid of being held accountable
• Is great with juggling and coordinating vendors, phone calls, and creative problem-solving
• Can troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues quickly and thoroughly
• Knows the value of documentation and takes pride in organized, accurate records
• Understands the entrepreneurial hustle—we grow, we improve, and we don’t settle
Preferred but not Required:
• ASE certifications
• CDL license
• Tech school background
• Experience using fleet management software
Work Environment & Culture
