Fleet & Facilities Manager Dwyer Marble & Stone Supply | Farmington Hills, MI Starting Salary: Commensurate with experience | On-site | Some Multi-location travel required The Opportunity Dwyer Marble & Stone Supply is seeking a hands-on, analytical Fleet & Facilities Manager to own fleet, equipment, and building systems across Farmington Hills, Grand Rapids, and Indianapolis. This is not simply a dispatch, vendor-management, or administrative role. We need someone with practical working knowledge who can troubleshoot problems, evaluate and oversee repairs, manage regulatory requirements, control costs, and drive issues to resolution. If you can identify where a problem starts, determine the best solution, and take ownership of the outcome, we want to hear from you. What You Will Own Facilities & Building Systems Responsible for building systems company-wide, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, grounds and building maintenance. Own preventive maintenance, repairs, contractors, and improvement projects; evaluate quotes and repair options for quality, necessity, and cost. Understand landlord versus tenant responsibilities for major expenses. Present decisions for major expenses to COO. Maintain safe, functional and compliant facilities across all locations. Fleet Operations & Technical Problem-Solving Own maintenance schedules, inspections, service records, repairs for trucks, trailers, forklifts, cranes, and related equipment. Evaluate fleet utilization and needs. Determine when new trucks are needed and how to utilize the remaining fleet (disposal or downgrade). Work with dealers to obtain and evaluate quotes and present decisions to management. Resolve on-road breakdowns and equipment failures, evaluating necessary repairs, mobile service, towing, or local dealer options based on safety, cost, downtime, location and operational impact. Own routing, dispatch, and delivery completion for Farmington Hills branch. Maximize fleet usage and efficiency for all 3 branches. Responsible for all applicable licensing, registrations, renewals, inspections, and records. Maintain current compliance of DOT, FMCSA, IRP, IFTA, and all applicable regulations. Oversee driver random testing and maintain accurate driver CDL qualification files. Manage vendors, budgets, quotes, and warranties. Maintain accurate files of maintenance costs and repairs and cost per mile to operate. Communicate risks, costs, and recommendations to leadership and respond to urgent issues, including occasional after-hours situations. Five Must-Have Qualifications Candidates must demonstrate: Regulatory Ownership: Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA, IRP, IFTA, licensing, registrations, inspections, and compliance documentation. Fleet Technical Judgment: Experience managing maintenance and breakdowns, evaluating repair and towing options, and minimizing downtime. Facilities Technical Knowledge: Ability to troubleshoot commercial building systems and manage repairs or replacement. Preventive Maintenance & Cost Control: Experience owning maintenance schedules, service records, vendors, repair decisions, and operating costs. Independent Problem-Solving: Ability to investigate issues, evaluate options, make sound decisions, and drive resolution. Additional Requirements 3-5 years of relevant experience in fleet operations and commercial facilities management. Strong organization, communication, decision-making, and follow-through. Excel spreadsheet proficiency is a must. Ability to travel between all three locations and respond to urgent operational needs.
