Flatbed Dispatcher

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Flatbed Dispatcher to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of flatbed operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to keep drivers moving safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Dispatch and coordinate flatbed trucks and drivers on a daily basis Locate and book profitable freight loads Plan efficient routes and manage driver schedules Communicate with drivers, customers, brokers, and shippers Monitor driver hours, appointments, pickups, and deliveries Coordinate load details, including dimensions, weight, securement requirements, tarping, and permits when applicable Track shipments and provide timely updates Handle changes, delays, and other issues that arise during transit Maintain accurate dispatch records and documentation Ensure company policies and DOT requirements are followed Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and brokers Maximize equipment utilization while minimizing empty miles and downtime Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency. Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Previous flatbed dispatching experience required Knowledge of flatbed equipment, load securement, tarping, and oversize/overweight freight is a plus Experience with load boards and transportation management/dispatch software Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Must be dependable, professional, and team-oriented Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with drivers and management Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, TMW and other logistics software tools is highly desirable. Ability to work closely with customers and provide excellent customer service. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining professionalism. Understanding of the commercial driving industry and logistics. 3+ years of experience in logistics.
