ConfidentialYARD MANAGER AMIGOS BEEF CATTLE COMPANY | Edroy, Texas Position Overview Amigos Beef Cattle Company is seeking an experienced, hands-on Yard Manager to oversee daily feedyard operations, coordinate department supervisors, and ensure efficient, safe, and effective cattle management. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong organizational and communication skills who can anticipate operational needs, adapt to changing priorities, and foster a positive, team-oriented work environment. Key Responsibilities Operations & Cattle Management · Oversee and coordinate daily feedyard activities, including cattle receiving, processing, animal health, feeding, and shipping. · Work closely with department supervisors to establish daily schedules, prioritize workloads, and allocate resources efficiently. · Coordinate cattle movements, pen assignments, shipping preparations, and inventory accuracy. · Support animal health protocols, processing schedules, and quality control in collaboration with veterinarians and nutritionists. Leadership & Personnel · Supervise and support department supervisors and their crews, ensuring adequate staffing and efficient workflows. · Promote a safe, productive, and respectful work environment. · Identify employee training needs, conduct periodic evaluations, and address personnel concerns promptly. · Lead by example through active involvement in daily operations, clear communication, and accountability. Planning & Administration · Anticipate operational needs and adjust schedules in response to weather, cattle health, and shipping changes. · Identify and prioritize yard maintenance and equipment needs. · Prepare and distribute daily operational reports. · Maintain accurate records using Accutrac and spreadsheets. · Oversee monthly medicine and feed ingredient inventories. · Communicate regularly with management, office personnel, department supervisors, and consultants.
