Job Summary As the Fabrication Shop Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the end-to-end fabrication, inventory management, and installation processes for consoles and custom furniture supporting our integration projects. This position is critical to ensuring all components are manufactured accurately, delivered on schedule, and completed within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. The Fabrication Shop Manager is responsible for leading shop operations, coordinating resources, managing personnel, and fostering a safe, efficient, and OSHA-compliant work environment. This position requires occasional travel. Job Responsibilities · Manage and oversee a team of approximately 5 employees. · Coordinate the carpentry, metal work, welding fabrication and assembly of broadcast consoles and equipment racks. · Promote, maintain, and enforce a safe work environment in compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices. · Manage inventory levels, order stock, and implement inventory control strategies. · Oversee the installation of consoles and racks at client job sites, ensuring quality and efficiency. · Maintain strong relationships with vendors to secure competitive pricing, availability, and delivery timelines. · Negotiate terms with suppliers for parts, tools, materials, and freight services within budgetary guidelines. · Lead all phases of shop production, from contract review through build-out, delivery, and final installation. · Supervise project estimating, product costing, prototype development, procurement, and production workflows. · Prioritize and manage multiple projects in various stages, ensuring deadlines are met with precision and accuracy. This role includes additional duties as assigned to meet business needs. Preferred Qualifications Proven experience supervising or managing teams in a production, fabrication or logistics environment. Proficient in the safe use of hand and power tools, with the ability to measure and cut materials accurately. Experience handling wood, lumber, and metal materials; basic skills in woodworking, welding, and laminating. Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with varying temperatures, dust, and noise. Able to stand for extended periods and comply with PPE requirements (eye and ear protection, hard-sole leather shoes). Willingness to work overtime and travel domestically up to 40%. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks. Self-motivated, professional, and articulate in both written and verbal communication. Must pass a background check, drug screening, and provide proof of U.S. work eligibility.
