Solidhaul Transport Inc. is a growing transportation company focused on providing reliable and professional freight transportation services across Canada and the Canada–U.S. corridor. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Truck Dispatcher who understands the transportation industry, can secure quality freight, and knows how to efficiently manage reefer operations and cross-border movements. Position Overview The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience dispatching tractor-trailers and reefer equipment, strong knowledge of freight markets, and a solid understanding of Canada–U.S. border crossings and documentation requirements. You will be responsible for finding and negotiating profitable loads, planning routes, communicating with drivers and brokers, and keeping trucks moving efficiently while maintaining strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities * Dispatch and manage company trucks efficiently and professionally * Find and secure high-paying reefer loads * Develop relationships with brokers, shippers, customers and freight agents * Negotiate competitive rates and maximize revenue per truck * Plan efficient routes and minimize empty miles * Coordinate pickups, deliveries, appointments and driver schedules * Monitor drivers and provide ongoing support during trips * Handle delays, breakdowns, detention and other operational issues * Maintain accurate dispatch and load records * Communicate professionally with brokers and customers * Coordinate Canada–U.S. cross-border shipments * Understand major border crossings and common border procedures * Ensure drivers have the required documentation for border crossings * Monitor reefer temperature requirements and communicate special load instructions * Track loads from pickup through final delivery * Follow up on PODs/BOLs and other required paperwork Required Qualifications & Experience * 1+ years of trucking dispatch experience preferred * Strong experience with reefer freight * Knowledge of Canada–U.S. border crossings and cross-border operations * Understanding of reefer temperature requirements and appointment-based freight * Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. freight lanes * Experience negotiating rates with brokers * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment * Strong computer and organizational skills * Knowledge of load boards and transportation management systems * Professional attitude and strong attention to detail Strongly Preferred Experience with: * DAT / Truckstop/ loadlink and other load boards * Cross-border reefer freight * GTA–U.S. Midwest lanes- Montreal * Produce and temperature-controlled freight * Border documentation and customs procedures * Driver trip planning and hours-of-service considerations * Rate negotiation and carrier-broker relationships What We Offer * Competitive compensation based on experience * Opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding carrier * Professional and supportive work environment * Opportunity to work with dedicated equipment and reefer operations * Performance-based growth opportunities * Long-term employment opportunity for the right candidate Who We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who knows trucking and dispatching.
