We’re seeking an experienced Tax Accountant who can work independently, manage client accounts, and confidently handle individual and business tax returns. Practical experience is our priority. A CPA or Enrolled Agent credential is welcome but not required. This is not an entry-level position. What You’ll Do Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and trusts. Manage client accounts, gather necessary information, and keep filings and deliverables on schedule. Review accounting records, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial statements and supporting workpapers. Provide tax planning support and practical guidance to individuals and business owners. Research tax questions and assist with tax notices and related client matters. Handle sales tax and other filings within your areas of experience. Communicate clearly with clients and collaborate with colleagues to maintain accurate, timely work. Help onboard new clients and support their ongoing accounting needs. What We’re Looking For Five or more years of relevant tax and accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm serving multiple clients. Strong hands-on experience preparing individual and business tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065. Experience with trusts and Form 1041 is valuable. Ability to manage client work independently, identify missing information, and recognize when additional research or guidance is needed. Strong accounting fundamentals and experience with reconciliations and financial statement preparation. Clear written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred, not required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, not required. Technology & Additional Experience Proficiency with QuickBooks Online. Experience with Intuit ProSeries preferred. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and data import/export. Comfort with Microsoft Office, client management systems, and document management tools. Experience with sales tax filings, FBAR filings, and specialized industries or tax matters is a plus.
