POSITION INFORMATION: The Parts Counter Person is responsible for assisting retail and wholesale customers obtain the correct parts in the least time possible while maintaining A professional and courteous attitude and maximum profit for the Dealership. This position reports to the Parts Manager. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists walk-in customers in obtaining the correct parts for their needs and wants. Answers phone calls quickly and professionally, helping customers determine their needs and wants. Orders or locates parts while providing both timely service for customers and maximum profit for the Dealership. Assists Service and Sales Departments in ordering and pricing parts for their customers, including making keys for vehicles. Helps parts back counter when busy. Maintains a clean and uncluttered work area. Responsible for the over all appearance and cleanliness of the retail parts area. Stocks part shelves when daily stock orders arrive. Assists Parts Manager with daily computer input as assigned by the manager. Tracks all parts back orders to expedite time of shipment. Maintains a neat and professional appearance. Knows and abides by all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, and other policies and procedures determined by management. Follows dealerships safety rules and Injury and Illness Prevention program. QUALIFICATIONS: At least one-year Ford parts counter sales experience. Ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions and information. Good verbal communication skills. Self-motivating positive personality. Must pass drug test and physical. Must be able to work overtime and weekends on occasions. WORKING CONDITIONS: Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, handle, and feel. Will lift and transport parts weighing up to 70 pounds several times per day. Will stand and move around six to eight hours per day. Will perform computer input six to eight hours per day.
