At this time, SCI is recruiting highly qualified candidates whose background and career goals meet our needs for an Expediter-Purchasing position in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will perform a variety of purchasing support duties, including coordinating with suppliers, data entry, scheduling purchase orders to align with production schedules, resolving parts issues/shortages, and expediting incoming materials to meet MRP commitments. What You'll Do Coordinate with suppliers, enter data, and schedule purchase orders to support and meet production schedules. Address parts issues internally and with suppliers to remedy shortage problems. Pick up and deliver materials within the company while maintaining accurate records of material movement. Expedite incoming materials to ensure they align with MRP schedules and monitor the flow of parts between departments. Review customer BOMs and Approved Vendor Lists (AVLs) to verify purchase orders meet approved customer component requirements. Track purchase order placements, material receipts, and incoming parts for defects that could impact schedules. Collaborate with the receiving department to resolve paperwork issues that hinder material processing and receipt. Produce clear, concise, and accurate daily or weekly status reports reflecting all open assignments. What You'll Bring Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a related purchasing support or materials management role. Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (minimally intermediate Excel and Word) and related software tools. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities to multitask efficiently, keep precise records of open part/purchase orders, and deliver concise status reports. Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and people skills allowing seamless collaboration with parts manufacturers, distributors, and internal teams. How to Stand Out Ability to quickly master internal procedures for placing parts orders and expediting parts movement through shipping and receiving. Direct experience working with Customer BOMs, AVLs, and MRP schedules within an electronics, defense, or aerospace manufacturing setting. Why Join Us?
