Executive Driver & Transportation Specialist

Position : Executive Driver & Transportation Specialist Status : Full-Time Schedule : Primarily Monday through Friday. Travel schedules vary based on business needs and may include early-morning departures, late-evening returns, and occasional overnight travel. Most transportation needs are anticipated to occur between Monday afternoon and Thursday evening. Compensation : $25-$30 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience, with overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek. POSITION SUMMARY Thomas Interiors is seeking a dependable, professional Executive Transportation Specialist to provide safe, comfortable, and reliable transportation for company leaders and other team members. Based in the greater Chicago area, this position supports business travel throughout Illinois, including regular long-distance trips and transportation between meetings, offices, customer locations, airports, and other business destinations. The greatest transportation demand is anticipated to occur between Monday afternoon and Thursday evening. Some assignments may involve early-morning departures, late-evening returns, and occasional overnight stays. During periods when transportation services are not required, the Executive Transportation Specialist may assist with local transportation needs, airport transfers, vehicle readiness, and other reasonable business-related support activities. RESPONSIBILITIES Executive & Team Transportation Safely transport company executives, employees, and other authorized passengers to meetings, business locations, airports, and other approved destinations. Provide driving services for business travel throughout Illinois and, on occasion, neighboring Midwestern states, including multi-stop itineraries and overnight trips. Coordinate pickup locations, routes, and schedules while adapting professionally to changing business needs and travel requirements. Vehicle Care & Readiness Operate and maintain a company-provided vehicle in a safe, clean, and professional manner. Monitor and coordinate routine maintenance, refueling, inspections, vehicle condition, and service appointments. Plan routes with attention to weather conditions, traffic patterns, road conditions, passenger comfort, and travel efficiency. Professionalism & Operational Support Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company business, travel schedules, conversations, and passengers. Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, courtesy, attentiveness, and sound judgment at all times. Support local transportation needs, airport transfers, and reasonable business-related errands during lighter travel periods. Comply with all company driving, safety, expense reporting, and travel policies. Operate vehicles in a safe and distraction-free manner; non-emergency phone calls and similar activities are prohibited while driving. EXCEPTIONAL CANDIDATES WILL DEMONSTRATE Outstanding safe-driving habits, including defensive driving techniques, sound judgment, and a consistently smooth and comfortable driving style. Dependability, discretion, professionalism, and a strong sense of personal accountability. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact comfortably with executives, employees, customers, and business partners. Flexibility in responding to changing schedules, extended travel days, and occasional overnight travel requirements. Strong familiarity with Chicago-area roadways and traffic patterns, along with confidence navigating highways and business destinations throughout Illinois. A proactive, service-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS Valid driver's license required. Must possess and maintain a driving record acceptable to the Company's automobile insurance carrier.
