Event Production Truck Driver - CDL-A
Creative Sound and LightingYou're the person who gets our shows there. Creative Sound and Lighting produces corporate and private events nationwide, and our gear travels on our own equipment. A late-model sleeper for long trips, or day cab and/or box trucks for local or regional work. This role is road-first: expect roughly 15–20 driving days per month in show season, a mix of longer tours (typically 5–14 days) and shorter regional runs (typically 1-5 days), with warehouse work between trips. You're home the remainder of the month in show season, more days in the off season, and at least one day most weekends. This is not live-in-the-truck over the road driving. What you'll do on the road (~80%): Transport CSL gear to show sites nationwide: sleeper or day cab, with our owned or rented trailers, from 36'-53'. Drive 26' box trucks for regional runs. Own DOT compliance for your trucks: pre/post-trip inspections, maintain compliance with ELD hours-of-service regulations / DVIRs, and help ensure loads are secured safely and arrive on time. Coordinate delivery windows, dock access, and site logistics with show leads; supervise truck load/unload at venues. What you'll do in the warehouse (~20%): Show prep and de-prep against pull sheets, and general warehouse tasks. Fleet upkeep coordination: fueling, maintenance scheduling, DVIR follow-up across trucks and trailers. Yard moves and trailer shuttles at the warehouse. No matter where you are: You'll drive good equipment. Shows go out in a leased/owned late-model sleeper. The road is your office and we treat it that way. Your road time is planned, not dispatched. While there are no guarantees in production, you aren't living in a truck stop and aren't waiting for a call on Sunday night. When you're not on the road, you work a local, predictable week. You are part of the Creative Crew, not a vendor. You know the shows and the team. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. A competitive base salary plus a daily premium for driving: $70,000-80,000 expected total annual compensation at anticipated volume, plus tax-free daily per diem on overnight travel. Requirements: CDL-A, clean MVR, current DOT medical card; able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and participate in our DOT random testing pool. 2+ years CMV experience; entertainment/touring freight background preferred (production trucking, stagehand-adjacent, AV logistics). Comfortable with dock-tight venues, liftgates, and helping to load and secure the road cases/gear. This is production freight on production timelines, not drop-and-hook. Reliability under hard deadlines: a 7 AM show delivery means ready to unload at 7 AM, and an 11 PM load out means there and ready to load!
