That's the deal on this regional run out of the Shafter distribution center, and you're back home at least once a week, sometimes sooner. Most drivers here make about $1,284 a week, which is around $66,811 a year. The stronger earners on this fleet get up to $ 1,624 a week, or roughly $ 84,482 annually. Your rate depends on how much experience you have, and each stop adds a little more on top. You get paid every week. Your shifts start sometime between 3 and 9 in the afternoon. Expect around 1,700 miles a week, with loads that run anywhere from one to five stops and a backhaul now and then. Home time is 34 to 48 hours a week, and some weeks you'll get back mid-week. You'll pull 53-foot dry vans and reefers, and every load is no-touch. Just keep in mind that the trucks stay parked at the yard, so you'll need a car or some other way to get there.
