We run online auctions for equipment, real estate, estates, and business liquidations, with bidders from across the country. Our equipment yard on US Highway 319 North is growing fast, and we need someone to own it. Within commuting distance of Tallahassee, Valdosta, Moultrie, Cairo, and Quitman. The Role You will run our equipment yard. Equipment comes in, gets inspected, cataloged, shown, sold, and loaded out, and you make sure every piece of that works. You will be the person our consignors deal with and the person buyers meet when they come to look at equipment. As the yard operation tightens up, the role grows. There is real opportunity to build new business with farmers, contractors, dealers, and estates across South Georgia and North Florida, and to be paid for what you bring in. Running the Yard Receive incoming consignments, inspect and photograph equipment, and record condition Tag lots and assign row and block locations so every item can be found before and after the sale Keep the yard and heavy equipment inventory organized, safe, secure, and presentable along the highway Host previews and showings and answer buyer questions on site Manage loadouts and coordinate buyer pickups and shipping Operate forklifts, skid steers, tractors, and other equipment safely Taking Care of Consignors Serve as the day-to-day contact for yard consignors from intake through settlement Keep sellers informed and set clear expectations Growing the Business Develop new business with farmers, contractors, dealerships, municipalities, and estates Represent Wiregrass at local events, farm and industry gatherings, and in the community Keep accurate records of prospects and consignors in our CRM (customer management system) What You Bring 3+ years preferred in equipment sales, equipment rental, dealership operations, or equivalent hands-on equipment experience Working knowledge of farm and construction equipment Experience safely operating forklifts and heavy equipment Ability to build relationships and win new business, including cold calls and in-person visits Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail Comfort with a smartphone, email, photos, and basic computer systems Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets our insurance carrier's requirements Ability to pass a background check and drug screen after a conditional offer Preferred An existing network in South Georgia or North Florida agriculture or construction Truck and trailer hauling experience; CDL a plus Auction industry experience Working Conditions Outdoor work in all weather, including South Georgia summers Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds, plus standing, walking, and climbing on equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation Longer hours during sale weeks, including some Saturdays and auction days How We Work We hold ourselves to integrity and transparency in everything we do.
