Heavy Equipment & Diesel Technician – Bobcat of Juneau & Bobcat of Ketchikan 30–50+/hour DOE | Full-Time | Year-Round Looking for More Than Just Another Mechanic Job? Bobcat of Juneau is hiring skilled technicians for our service departments in Juneau and Ketchikan, Alaska. We're not just a Bobcat dealership. Our technicians work on nearly anything that comes through the door—from CAT, Hyundai, Samsung, Bobcat, and Husqvarna equipment to commercial trucks, passenger vehicles, and specialized machinery. In Southeast Alaska, our customers depend on us to tackle challenging repairs across a wide range of makes and models. No two days are quite the same. We're looking for technicians who can troubleshoot, adapt, and figure things out—not just replace parts. What We're Looking For ● Heavy Equipment & Diesel Experience: Background in construction equipment, excavators, loaders, commercial trucks, diesel engines, and related machinery. ● Automotive Experience: Skilled automotive technicians are encouraged to apply, particularly those with strong diagnostic abilities. ● Electrical Diagnostics: Strong electrical troubleshooting skills are essential. Experience diagnosing wiring faults, corrosion, damaged harnesses, sensors, and electronic control systems is especially valuable in Southeast Alaska's wet environment. ● Hydraulic & Mechanical Systems: Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, powertrain, drivetrain, and mechanical failures. ● Welding & Fabrication: Welding, metal fabrication, and structural repair experience are a significant plus. ● Versatility & Problem-Solving: Ability to research unfamiliar equipment, interpret service information, and develop effective repair solutions. ● Independent Workmanship: Take ownership of repairs, document findings, and consistently deliver quality work. ● Remote Field Service: Willingness to perform occasional repairs at remote job sites and communities throughout Southeast Alaska, sometimes accessible only by boat or aircraft. Experienced technicians who can hit the ground running are our priority, but we'll also consider developing technicians with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn. You don't need to know every brand we work on. You need the mechanical foundation, electrical troubleshooting ability, and initiative to figure things out. What We Offer ● 30–50+/hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications. ● Flexible schedule: four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days. ● Full-time, year-round employment. ● Overtime opportunities. ● 401(k) with company matching. ● Paid time off and holidays. ● Employee tool discounts. ● Manufacturer training and certification opportunities. ● Additional compensation for qualifying remote service work. Two Locations. One Opportunity. We're hiring in Juneau and Ketchikan, with placement based on your experience, technical strengths, and location preferences. Southeast Alaska offers exceptional fishing, hunting, boating, hiking, and outdoor recreation. Beyond that, our technicians may have opportunities to travel to remote communities and job sites throughout the region, experiencing parts of Alaska that few people ever get to see. Whether you're looking for a change of scenery, a new technical challenge, or a little adventure, this is an opportunity to experience Alaska beyond the ordinary. Ready for a New Challenge? We're looking for dependable, motivated technicians who take pride in their work and enjoy solving problems. Apply today! Tell us about your experience and whether you're interested in Juneau, Ketchikan, or either location. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Paid time off Work Location: In person
