Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Equipment Operations Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating and managing rental generator, light and heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance logs. You will ensure that all generator units and related power accessories are clean, safely inspected, fueled, load-tested or functionally checked, and ready for rent. You may assist delivery drivers with loading and unloading equipment. Provide parts sourcing, procurement, and maintenance activities, supporting our commitment to operational excellence. Responsibilities Coordinate supply chain activities including parts sourcing, procurement management, and demand planning to ensure timely availability of equipment and parts. Create and manage log book for each vehicle and every piece of yard equipment. Handle manual labor, including refueling, heavy lifting, cleaning and landscaping duties around the property. Assist owner maintain fleet (heavy equipment and generators) by checking tires, batteries and other functionality. Qualifications Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of diesel or gasoline engines, including the ability to check fluid levels (oil, coolant, fuel), swap batteries, and verify machine operations. Heavy Lifting: Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 50 to 60 pounds unassisted. Stamina: Capacity to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and climb onto large equipment trailers or generator steps throughout a full shift. Environmental Tolerance: Willingness to work completely outdoors in all weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, snow) while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) if applicable. Communication: Strong verbal communication skills. Attention to Detail: Precision in conducting routine "check-in/check-out" inspections to accurately note pre-existing or new damage to high-value generator sets. Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to safety protocols when dealing with electrical equipment, hazardous fuels, and high-traffic heavy machinery environments. Equipment Industry Familiarity: Prior experience in construction equipment rental yards or vocational school certificates is strongly preferred. Tool Handling: Proficiency using hand tools and power tools (drills, wrenches, and heavy-duty power washers to detail equipment). Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 35.0 per week Work Location: In person
