Electrical Purchaser/Buyer TechElectric Automation Inc. is hiring an Electrical Purchaser / Buyer. This hands-on, on-site role supports industrial electrical, automation, construction and service work. The successful candidate will have purchasing experience and direct experience with electrical, automation or industrial products. This is not a general retail or office-supply purchasing position. About TechElectric : We deliver industrial electrical integration, automation, control-panel, PLC, maintenance and contracting solutions. What You Will Purchase Electrical, automation and industrial materials, including electrical components, control-panel and PLC-related materials, drives, motors, cable, conduit, industrial controls and other project-specific parts and equipment. Key Responsibilities · Source materials and compare supplier pricing, availability and lead times. · Create, issue and track purchase orders, assigning purchases to the correct project or work order. · Obtain material and equipment pricing to support project estimates. · Confirm order and delivery details and follow up on open orders, back orders and urgent requirements. · Communicate material availability, delays and alternatives to managers and field teams. · Coordinate deliveries, check incoming materials and verify shop stock when required. · Resolve shipment and pricing discrepancies and coordinate returns and credits. · Maintain supplier relationships and identify alternate sources when required. · Travel locally to pick up materials or equipment when required. Required Qualifications · At least two years of purchasing, buying or material-coordination. · Direct purchasing experience with electrical, automation or industrial products. · Experience creating and tracking purchase orders and comparing supplier quotations. · Strong organization, follow-up and attention to detail. · Ability to manage multiple orders and changing priorities. · Confidence communicating and negotiating with suppliers. · Good Microsoft Excel, Outlook and record-management skills. · Valid Ontario driver's license. Preferred Qualifications · Familiarity with control-panel and PLC-related materials, drives, motors, cable, conduit and industrial controls. · Experience supporting estimators, project managers or field service teams. · Experience dealing with overseas orders and shipping requirements. · Forklift license is an asset. Schedule and Work Environment · Full-time, permanent, on-site position in Burlington. · Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. · Primarily office-based, with regular trips into the shop to check stock and incoming materials. · Local travel may be required to pick up items. · Frequent collaboration with the General Manager, project managers and field technicians in a fast-moving, project-based environment.
