Overview Sancon Commissioning is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, development and execution of modular electrical systems and components for industrial and energy-related projects. In this role, you will play a key part in conceptualizing, designing and optimizing electrical systems within modular construction environments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, project management, procurement, production and field personnel to ensure electrical systems are designed for safe, efficient and successful integration into manufacturing and project operations. The successful candidate will review and analyze customer requirements, specifications, modular construction plans and manufacturing constraints while ensuring designs meet applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements and project specifications. Design outputs will be communicated through CAD and 3D drawings used to support procurement, fabrication, manufacturing and assembly. Responsibilities Design and develop modular electrical components and systems, considering functionality, efficiency, scalability, manufacturability and sustainability. Responsible for the design of complete electrical systems, including one-line diagrams, point-to-point schematics and bills of materials. Provide technical expertise and advisory support throughout project execution. Participate in project meetings and technical discussions, providing input on key electrical issues and technical strategies. Work closely with design teams utilizing software such as SolidWorks, Revit and AutoCAD to develop detailed models and technical drawings. Support the sizing, selection and procurement of electrical equipment including LV/MV switchgear, starters, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, conduit and conductors, motor-operated equipment, pumps, compressors and control systems. Prepare comprehensive project documentation including design specifications, bills of materials, technical documentation and assembly instructions. Provide technical support to production teams during fabrication, assembly and installation. Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues that arise during manufacturing and project execution. Interface with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Mechanical Engineers, Controls Engineers, Procurement teams and field/service personnel. Support production teams in resolving electrical issues during fabrication and assembly. Support First-of-a-Kind quality inspections for electrical equipment at vendor facilities and project locations. Compile electrical operations and maintenance information and support preparation of final IOM manuals. Support sales and applications engineering teams with bid tabulations and proposal development. Perform other related responsibilities as required. Education and Training Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus A degree and/or significant experience in Controls Engineering may also be considered. Completion of the EIT and/or FE exam is considered an asset but is not required where sufficient industry experience exists. Requirements and Qualifications 2–5 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably within power distribution, modular construction, data centers, controls or building systems design. Proven experience with electrical system design, schematic capture, and circuit analysis. Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), FPGA development, and signal processing techniques. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation and/or SolidWorks for electrical layout and design, with controls or PLC programming experience considered an asset. Hands-on knowledge of electrical systems including: LV/MV switchgear, Panelboards, Motor starters, VFDs, ATS. UPS systems, Cable trays, Conduit and fittings, Electrical distribution equipment Ability to work in production and fabrication environment…
