Electrical Construction Procurement Manager
Martin ElectricMartin Electric is an 85+ year electrical contractor building its next generation. We take on complex, fast-moving commercial and industrial work where execution matters. Our clients count on us to say, “Don’t worry. We’ve got it.” and then deliver. You are the Supply Chain Commander. You lead Martin Electric’s procurement function — purchasing, supplier relationships, contracts and cost management so our teams have the materials, equipment and services they need at competitive pricing, on time and in compliance. You will work hand in hand with Finance, Operations, Estimating and the Warehouse — setting strategy, negotiating terms that protect our margins and spotting supply risk before it reaches the field. You own the results. Responsibilities Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company goals and operational needs. Oversee purchasing of materials, equipment, supplies and services, reviewing requisitions against policy and budget. Identify, qualify and select suppliers; monitor quality, delivery, pricing and compliance. Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms and delivery schedules, and track compliance and renewals. Maintain minority-owned business spend tracking and reporting. Monitor spend against budget and drive cost-reduction and cost-avoidance initiatives. Partner with Operations and the Warehouse to right-size inventory and anticipate shortages or disruptions. Identify supply-chain risk, put mitigation in place and keep procurement records accurate and compliant. Lead, coach and develop procurement staff around clear expectations and continuous improvement. WHAT WINNING LOOKS LIKE… Jobs are never waiting on material. Suppliers deliver on time, to spec and at the price we negotiated. Contracts are current, renewals never sneak up on us, and spend stays under management with savings and cost avoidance we can measure. Inventory is right-sized enough to keep work moving without dollars sitting on shelves. Then think about where the margin is made. Material is one of the largest costs on every job we build. Every point negotiated, every shortage avoided and every weak supplier replaced early goes straight to the bottom line and when Finance, Operations and Estimating trust procurement as a partner, the whole company moves faster. WHO THRIVES HERE Find a Way — Shortages and late shipments are real. Excuses are optional. You find another source and keep work moving. Be Genuine — Say what you mean and mean what you say — with suppliers and teammates alike, even in a tough negotiation. Stay Hungry & Humble — Nobody is above the work. You are eager to learn and willing to jump in. We’re a Team — Challenge directly. Care deeply. You hold the line on cost while earning trust across every department. Committed to Excellence — Raise the standard. Details matter because a missed term or wrong part gets expensive fast. Qualifications Experience with contracts, sales and procurement. You’d rather keep every vendor happy than negotiate hard, and you start buying when the need hits instead of thinking three moves ahead. If Plan B starts after Plan A fails, this probably isn’…
