Duties Safely operate commercially licensed dump truck over local haul routes. Load and unload freight efficiently using manual handling techniques while ensuring cargo is secured. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Communicate effectively with construction foremen, superintendents, other team members and vendors to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly. Skills CDL, Class A Driver's License required. 5 years proven experience in commercial truck driving, including freight delivery, route driving, and logistics cargo handling. Knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures with expertise in manual handling techniques. Proficiency in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning on over-the-road (OTR) routes. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely under various road conditions. Excellent driving skills with a minimum of 5 year clean driving record; experience with delivery driver roles preferred.
