Dump Truck Driver

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport and deliver materials across various job sites and routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to handle different types of freight will ensure efficient and reliable service. Duties Operate dump trucks with manual transmission across over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring timely delivery of materials such as gravel, dirt, or debris. Load and unload cargo efficiently using manual handling techniques and equipment, ensuring proper securing of loads in compliance with safety standards. Navigate using GPS systems to follow designated routes accurately while adjusting for traffic or road conditions. Maintain compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, including hours of service, vehicle inspections, and documentation. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and operational readiness; report any maintenance issues promptly. Assist with logistics cargo handling, including loading freight onto flatbed or tanker trailers as required for specific deliveries. Follow all safety protocols during truck loading/unloading processes, especially when handling refrigerated trailers or specialized equipment like tractor-trailers. Document delivery activities accurately, including route logs, delivery receipts, and incident reports when necessary. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate routes and resolve issues promptly. Skills Proven experience operating commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazard materials regulations (Hazmat), and safety procedures for hazardous goods transportation. Skilled in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time adjustments during deliveries. Experience with over-the-road (OTR) driving routes involving long-distance deliveries across multiple states or regions. Familiarity with truck loading/unloading procedures for freight such as freight containers or logistics cargo handling. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience in delivery driving and route driving preferred. Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently Ability to comply with all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations regarding driver hours, vehicle inspections, and safety standards. Strong communication skills for effective coordination with dispatchers and clients during deliveries.
