Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport construction materials, debris, and other freight across various job sites and routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to handle diverse cargo will ensure smooth and efficient deliveries. Duties Safely operate dump trucks equipped with manual transmissions, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers to transport materials over long distances or local routes. Load and unload cargo efficiently using manual handling techniques and proper equipment, ensuring secure placement for transit. Navigate using GPS systems and plan routes that optimize delivery times while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns before and after each trip. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site managers, and clients to coordinate deliveries, report delays or issues, and ensure customer satisfaction. Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving, delivery driving, and over-the-road (OTR) routes. Familiarity with truck loading and unloading procedures for freight such as freight containers, hazardous materials, or specialty cargo like tanker or flatbed loads. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazard communication protocols, and hazardous materials handling requirements. Ability to operate various types of trucks including tractor-trailers with manual transmission systems. Strong manual handling skills for load & unload activities while maintaining safety standards. Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service excellence.
