Driver - Hot Shot Skyline Carriers Ltd. – Nisku, AB Pay: $27.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience Job Type: Full-Time Location: Nisku, Alberta About Skyline Carriers Skyline Carriers Ltd. is a growing transportation company based in Nisku, Alberta. We provide hotshot, dedicated, local and regional transportation services throughout Alberta and Western Canada. We are looking for an experienced, dependable and professional Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting customer freight using company trucks and trailers while providing reliable and professional service to our customers. Responsibilities Complete local and regional pickups and deliveries throughout Edmonton, Nisku, Leduc and surrounding areas Complete out-of-town and longer-distance hotshot deliveries as required Safely operate company trucks and trailers Properly load, secure and transport customer freight Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Complete accurate daily timesheets and driver records Record pickup and delivery times for each job Accurately record hours worked for each customer Record beginning and ending kilometres each day Track fuel purchases and fuel usage Complete bills of lading, delivery receipts, PO information and other required documentation Maintain regular communication with dispatch Provide updates regarding pickups, deliveries, delays and completed jobs Follow assigned routes and help minimize unnecessary kilometres and delays Keep company vehicles clean and in professional condition Immediately report mechanical issues, vehicle damage, incidents or safety concerns Follow company safety policies and applicable transportation regulations Represent Skyline Carriers professionally at customer locations and worksites Assist with loading and unloading freight when required Adapt to changing schedules and last-minute hotshot requests Required Qualifications Applicants must : Hold a valid Alberta driver's licence appropriate for the vehicles being operated Have a clean driver's abstract Have a clean criminal record Be willing and able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test Be comfortable operating pickup trucks and pulling trailers Have knowledge of proper load securement Be safety-conscious and dependable Be physically capable of performing the requirements of the position Have strong communication and customer-service skills Be able to accurately complete paperwork and daily job documentation Be comfortable using a smartphone and electronic applications Be punctual, reliable and able to work independently Previous commercial driving, hotshot, oilfield or transportation experience is strongly preferred. Experience with trailers, load securement, Geotab , electronic inspections and oilfield/customer sites is considered an asset. Schedule & Availability This is a full-time position , with hours varying depending on customer requirements and scheduled deliveries. Drivers must be flexible and willing to work early mornings, extended days, occasional evenings and weekends when required. Out-of-town and longer-distance deliveries will be required from time to time. Transportation schedules can change quickly, so the successful candidate must be adaptable and available when customer needs change. Compensation $27.00–$30.00 per hour , based on experience, qualifications and driving history. What We're Looking For We want someone who takes pride in being a professional driver.
