Job Summary As a Driver, you’ll move freight safely and reliably, using GPS navigation to follow assigned routes and meet delivery requirements. Depending on the load and equipment, work may include over-the-road (OTR) driving, local route driving, automobile transportation, and operating a tractor-trailer with a refrigerated trailer, flatbed, or tanker. Your impact: Safe, timely deliveries help customers receive their freight and keep supply chains moving. Duties Operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers, including vehicles with manual transmissions, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Plan and follow delivery routes using GPS navigation; complete delivery driving and OTR assignments as scheduled. Load and unload freight, secure cargo, and perform manual handling as needed to protect goods during transport. Transport hazardous materials or dangerous goods only when authorized, following applicable hazardous materials regulations and required procedures. Inspect vehicles and equipment, report issues, and maintain accurate delivery and freight records. Qualifications Commercial truck driving, truck driving, commercial driving, or delivery driver experience is preferred. Ability to drive safely, operate a manual transmission, and handle loading, unloading, and logistics cargo handling tasks. Familiarity with freight, route driving, and equipment such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers is an asset. Hazmat qualifications and experience transporting dangerous goods are preferred; applicable requirements depend on assigned loads. Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safe cargo securement practices is preferred.
