Together, we are Building A Better Everything. About the Role: The Dock Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and reliable flow of materials through the facility. This position coordinates inbound and outbound shipments, finished goods, returnable containers, dock equipment, and material movements while ensuring customer requirements and production needs are met. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a sense of urgency are essential to keeping material moving and supporting customer continuity. What You Will Do: Coordinate daily inbound receiving and outbound shipping activities, ensuring accurate and timely data entry. Coordinate outbound shipments, including finished goods, PPO orders, returnables, and expedited shipments. Monitor finished goods inventory and make shipping configuration decisions based on customer and operational requirements. Manage returnable container inventories, shipments, and related documentation. Coordinate and oversee inbound and outbound Hi-Lo driver activities. Manage Hi-Lo and tugger equipment leases, preventative maintenance, repairs, and service needs. Maintain Delivery Location FIFO requirements and ensure material is properly staged and rotated. Coordinate supplier returns, including scrap and rework materials. Coordinate dock repairs and maintenance activities. Manage dunnage returns and removal, including pallets and other reusable materials. Coordinate inbound and outbound expedites to support production and customer requirements. Identify potential disruptions to material flow and take proactive action to resolve issues. Maintain accurate records and ensure dock activities comply with company policies and safety requirements. Learn and effectively use new systems, technology, and processes. Collaborate with warehouse, materials, production, transportation, and customer teams to maintain efficient material flow. Support the team and customer by responding quickly to changing priorities and operational needs. What You Need To Be Successful: At least 1 year of dock, warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material-handling experience. Previous clerical, administrative, or data-entry experience. Customer service experience, preferably in an automotive or manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify issues and take initiative to resolve them. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees across multiple functions. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines. Strong sense of urgency when addressing issues that could impact production or customer continuity. Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to adapt to changing priorities. Ability to learn and effectively use new technology, systems, and processes.
