SUMMARY: Achieve sales objective by operating assigned routes, identifying efficiencies and maintaining R.L Schreiber customer service as key contact between Purveyor through the assistance and support to the Regional General Manager. Role and Responsibilities Oversees and develops routes identifying opportunities building relationships between Purveyor and R.L.Schreiber INC. to optimize route sales efficiency. Actively identify, recruit, and screen Purveyor prospects for open routes as well as new route territories. Achieve regional sales operational objectives by contributing regional sales information and feedback from Purveyors. Deliver R.L. Schreiber products and upsell to increase transaction size. Efficiently manage customer base within established route standards with minimum of 12 customer stops per day. Providing hands on training in areas of persuasive selling handling customer objections, route planning and new customer acquisition. Maintain and expand customer base, building superlative service to existing customers that fosters customer loyalty and retention, building rapport with key customers, and identify new customer opportunities. Complete service calls, resolving customer issues in timely fashion. Create plans to reactivate lapsed customers. Use RLS computer and order entry equipment to input transactions and manage customer data. Reporting food safety issues promptly to Supervisor or QA Personnel. Manage inventory, providing regular data on competitive regional and national market pricing. Managing accounts receivables, and balance daily route activities. Protect company assets, including collection of equipment and customer payments. Acquire new long term customers to support route growth. Identify opportunities to optimize route logistics and call frequency. Secondary Functions Support Region GM on special projects and assignments. Train and assist Purveyors to accurately perform inventory management, credit applications, accounts receivables, and related sales administrative functions. Assist in producing training videos, documents, recipes, valuable information for growing sales and best practices. Report food safety issues promptly to Supervisor or Quality Assurance personnel. Provide competitive & market intelligence, recommending new product opportunities. Answer customer questions about products pricing, product applications, credit terms, marketing programs, and problem resolution. Operate company vehicles along with required maintenance Keep required vehicle records and adhere to our company vehicle policy Work experience Requirements Five (5) years of food service sales or equivalent business –to- business sales experience. Must be 21 years of age or older Previous route sales or delivery experience Clean driving record and ability to meet company driver qualifications policy. Physically able to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis.
