EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Requires 3- 5 years of diverse experience in a manufacturing environment, including shipping & receiving. Requires analytical effort, initiative, ingenuity, and judgment in planning and directing shipping & receiving duties. Has latitude and responsibility to handle any emergency problems. Knowledge of basic principles of leadership, planning, and scheduling of work assignments. Must have strong math and computer skills in determining copper % for scrap shipments Associate’s degree or equivalent from technical school and 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: Under the general direction of the Distribution Manager, perform a wide variety of functions such as data entry, maintenance of records, preparing listings and summaries, simple computations, filing and other administrative duties in support of the operations of the Shipping & Receiving department. Document preparation includes all required for the shipping & receiving of customer orders, interplant transfers, and vendor shipments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all the month–end raw material adjustments, preparing documentation for scrap shipments, and completing all receiving transactions. Handles return materials, bare ground wire transactions, conducts finished goods transactions, & managing the organization of the FG reel yard. Completes the WIP done transactions in SAP and completes the paperwork for reels due for transfer to 2801/2901 plants. Trained on shipping products in SAP. Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources and maintains compliance with established policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as directed. SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Read, write, perform mathematical calculations, understand verbal or written instructions, provide verbal or written information to others, work continuous shifts, work scheduled or unscheduled overtime if requested, maintain a good attendance and punctuality record, follow all safety rules and maintain housekeeping in the area of responsibility, work well with others, and distinguish colors correctly. Adaptability – Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures. Building Partnerships – Identifying opportunities and taking action to build strategic relationships between one’s area and other areas, teams, departments, units, or organizations to help achieve business goals. Communications – clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
