Kay Miles TransportationOverview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatcher/Scheduler to coordinate transportation operations efficiently. This role involves managing vehicle dispatches, scheduling appointments, and ensuring smooth communication between drivers, clients, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have experience with transportation management systems, vehicle dispatch software, and possess strong organizational skills. Additionally, familiarity with working in environments serving mental health children or the Office of Mental Health is a plus. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to vital transportation services while maintaining a high standard of customer service and internal communication. Duties Coordinate and schedule road transportation for clients, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs in accordance with service requirements. Manage vehicle dispatch using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software to optimize routes and resource allocation. Maintain effective communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams via phone calls and internal messaging platforms to facilitate smooth operations. Keep detailed schedules, monitor ongoing appointments, and adjust plans as needed to accommodate changes or delays. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries professionally and ensuring client needs are met efficiently. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation, reporting, and record-keeping related to transportation activities. Work closely with mental health professionals or organizations serving mental health children to coordinate specialized transportation services when applicable. Prioritize safety protocols and compliance standards during all transportation activities. Experience Proven experience in scheduling or dispatch roles within road transportation operations or related fields. Familiarity with transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules simultaneously. Excellent phone communication skills for effective coordination with drivers, clients, and team members. Experience working in environments serving mental health children or within the Office of Mental Health is advantageous but not mandatory. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook for administrative tasks. This position is integral to delivering reliable transportation services while supporting the well-being of vulnerable populations through organized and compassionate coordination.
