JOB PURPOSE

This position is responsible for planning local drivers and dispatching to ensure timely deliveries and pick-ups with the city limits. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties essential to performing this function are below. Employees may be asked to perform tasks as needed that are not described below.

 

  • Manage a fleet of 20 to 30 drivers.
  • Assigned available loads to available drivers.
  • Ensure on time pick up and deliveries. 
  • Receive and process load tenders provided by PTI.
  • When required TMW/Optimize updated on the load(s).
  • Monitor and promote safety/DOT compliance.
  • Effectively communicating with customers on a regular and timely basis regarding issues impacting the customer and/or their service expectations, communicate interdepartmentally to resolve customer issues.
  • Collect load related documents such as POD from the drivers once a delivery/pick-up is completed and submitted required documentation to the customer.

 

 

EDUCATIOAND/OEXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent required

1-3 Years Transportation Experience Require

Bi-lingual Spanish, fluently in both written and spoken language

           Extended amounts of time stationed at a desk

         Use of 2 computer monitors

           Use of Keyboard and mouse

           On occasion: Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting boxes up to 15 lbs.

           Work in the transportation industry can be stressful at times.

 It may be necessary to climb and descend stairs daily and evacuate the building quickly in case of emergency.

INTERNAL SYSTEM TRAINING THAT WILL BE REQUIRED AT HIRE

Technical systems outside the scope of basic universal application technical skills (“universal” meaning

outlook, excel, etc.)

 

  • TMW Suite (Various Applications including TMT)
  • Samsara Fleet Manager and Trailer Management
  • Use of Optimiz and P&D applications

 

 

 

COMPLIANCE TRAINING THAT WILL BE REQUIRED AT HIRE

Standard employer compliance and company policy training is required.
