DISPATCHER – HEAVY HAUL / LOGISTICS

Responsibilities Coordinate and dispatch heavy haul and freight shipments, ensuring timely delivery while adhering to safety and DOT regulations Manage multi-line phone systems to communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams Utilize transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and vehicle dispatch software to plan routes, track shipments, and optimize fleet utilization Maintain accurate data entry for shipment details, driver logs, and customer information within logistics databases Monitor GPS and GIS tools for real-time tracking of vehicles, ensuring efficient route adjustments when necessary Communicate proactively with drivers via phone calls and internal messaging platforms to provide updates or resolve issues during transit Ensure compliance with shipping & receiving protocols, 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) standards, and DOT regulations throughout all dispatch activities Requirements Proven experience in road transportation operations, dispatching, or logistics coordination within a heavy haul or freight environment Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS tracking systems, transportation planning, and vehicle dispatch software such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication purposes Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette; ability to handle multiple calls efficiently using multi-line phone systems Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail for data entry and record keeping Familiarity with supply chain processes, shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and 3PL logistics solutions Understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations governing freight transport and vehicle safety standards Ability to analyze operational data to improve dispatch efficiency and troubleshoot logistical issues quickly High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in transportation management or related fields are a plus Embark on a rewarding career where your coordination skills drive success across complex logistics networks.
