SUMMARY The essential purpose of the 3PL Dispatch Coordinator is to coordinate activities of trucks engaged in the delivering of aggregate and other material to plant sites, job sites and customers. Coordinating with the field superintendent/foreman to ensure trucking needs are met. JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain relationships with a high volume of existing carriers (100+) Oversee loading and dispatching of dump truck drivers and trucks. Plans the schedules for all drivers and trucks for delivery of aggregates and other materials. Coordinates outside trucks for the delivery of materials to job sites, etc. Maintains a list of active outside trucking options for current and future projects. Ensure continuous compliance of all requirements and qualifications for 3PL carriers. Review and approve all billing for 3PL. Analyze many forms of data to continuously build upon our external business opportunities. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS High school diploma or equivalent required. One or more years of experience in dispatching, trucking, transportation, logistics, construction, construction materials, customer service, or a related operational role is preferred. Ability to coordinate multiple trucks, drivers, carriers, delivery locations, and schedule changes in a fast-paced environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with outside hauling companies, drivers, field teams, plant personnel, customers, and internal business partners. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and the ability to learn dispatching, transportation-management, and other company business systems. Ability to review rates, load information, billing support, and required documentation for completeness and accuracy. Ability to understand and use operational information related to safety, service, efficiency, productivity, utilization, and resource deployment. Basic knowledge of applicable DOT requirements and carrier qualification documentation, or the ability to develop this knowledge through training and experience. Strong communication, organization, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize work, respond to changing operational needs, and communicate pertinent information to drivers, carriers, field leaders, customers, the 3PL Trucking Manager, and other employees as appropriate. Ability to maintain accurate files, carrier records, billing support, and other required documentation.
