Role Description The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily transport operations for approximately 25 trucks, including scheduling and assigning loads to drivers, taking and placing customer orders, monitoring routes, and adjusting plans as needed to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries. This full-time, on-site role in Ayr, ON involves communicating with drivers, customers, and internal staff to provide updates, resolve issues, and maintain accurate records of trips and delivery statuses. The Dispatcher will track vehicle locations, manage dispatch software or systems, and ensure that all documentation, including logs and reports, is complete and compliant with company policies. The role also includes responding to unexpected situations such as delays or breakdowns, customer demands, optimizing routes to improve efficiency, and supporting overall service quality and customer satisfaction. Qualifications Experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation operations, preferably within a trucking or freight environment. Strong communication skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and internal teams in a clear, professional manner. Proficiency with dispatch or fleet management software, basic computer applications, and data entry. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of transportation regulations, road safety practices, and route planning principles is an asset. Ability to remain calm and solution-focused under pressure, including handling service disruptions or emergencies. Willingness to work on-site in Ayr, ON on a full-time schedule; 12pm-8pm and on call every other week and weekend Previous experience in customer service or a related field and completion of secondary education; post-secondary education in logistics or a related discipline is an advantage.
