Job Summary The Dispatch / Warehouse Assistant supports daily dispatch, warehouse, and yard operations for a concrete construction company. This position works with foremen to coordinate materials, tools, equipment, and deliveries needed for concrete construction projects. Responsibilities include sourcing materials, maintaining inventory, and ensuring required supplies are available in the yard and ready for crews and job sites. Duties and Responsibilities Assist the dispatcher with daily schedules, job information, material requests, and delivery coordination. Review upcoming job needs and check the yard to confirm that required materials, tools, and equipment are available. Help locate and source construction materials by contacting suppliers, checking availability, comparing pricing, and obtaining quotes. Assist with approved material orders and follow up with vendors regarding delivery dates, missing items, or delays. Monitor inventory levels and notify the manager when materials or supplies need to be replenished. Receive incoming deliveries, verify quantities against purchase orders or delivery tickets, and report shortages, damage, or incorrect items. Coordinate with yard personnel to gather, stage, and check materials and tools before crews leave for job sites. Assist with scheduling material pickups, deliveries, and equipment transfers between the yard and job sites. Communicate with foremen, project managers, vendors, and yard personnel regarding material needs and order status. Track tools, equipment, and unused materials sent to and returned from job sites, and report missing or damaged items. Maintain organized records of inventory, purchase orders, delivery tickets, and dispatch information. Help keep the warehouse and yard clean, organized, and safely accessible, with materials stored in designated locations. Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and material shortages promptly. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in warehouse operations, dispatch, inventory, or construction support preferred. Familiarity with construction materials, particularly lumber, rebar, concrete forming supplies, tools, and equipment, preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to communicate clearly with coworkers, field crews, and vendors. Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to changing job needs. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and email. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office and warehouse environment. Duties may involve walking, standing, bending, and handling materials, with exposure to weather, noise, dust, and moving vehicles or equipment. Employees must follow company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
