It serves approximately 120,000 people in Dartmouth and the eastern Halifax Regional Municipality Position Details: Position: Dispatcher Site: Dartmouth General Hospital Job Type: Full-Tim Hours: 1600-0000 OR 2359-0800 Payrate: $20.50/hour Key Responsibilities: As the Dispatcher is the first line of contact for our clients, they must handle all calls in a professional and calm demeanor, providing exceptional customer service. Maintain a good rapport with all Paladin Employees and management staff, while being cognizant of the confidential information that must be handled and maintained by this position. Dispatch alarm response calls effectively, concisely, and within designated time frames. Respond to alarms in a timely manner while ensuring all account instructions are followed correctly. Accurately update alarm accounts Creation of hospital ID cards Complete any other tasks given by the Shift Supervisor/Site Supervisor Prerequisites: Ability to lead, plan, organize, delegate and problem solve Ability to pay close attention to detail. Computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal Ability to deal with others effectively Ability to function effectively in a fast paced and stressful environment. Ability to demonstrate professionalism in all situations Ability to prioritize based on severity of the call Valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor) English (oral and written) fluency is a must Previous experience in dispatching, or a related field preferred Why choose Paladin?
