Dispatch Manager

Job Description Midland Transport is currently seeking a Dispatch Manager for our Concord Terminal . Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the successful candidate will lead a high-performing dispatch team while ensuring exceptional service, operational efficiency, and safe, compliant transportation operations. Irving group of companies A dynamic, safety-focused and team-oriented work environment Responsibilities Lead and oversee the terminal's 24/7 dispatch operation, ensuring service, safety, and operational objectives are achieved. Supervise, coach, develop, and schedule dispatch personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Manage daily pickup and delivery operations to ensure customer commitments are met efficiently and cost effectively. Optimize driver, equipment, and route utilization to maximize productivity and achieve budget and service targets. Monitor key operational KPIs including on-time performance, service levels, equipment utilization, and labor costs. Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, Hours of Service requirements, safety standards, and company policies. Collaborate with Customer Service, Dock Operations, Sales, and Linehaul teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience. Oversee staffing plans, vacation scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure operational coverage. Support employee performance management activities, including coaching, development planning, and performance reviews. Investigate operational challenges, identify process improvements, and implement solutions that improve service, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications 5+ years of transportation dispatch experience. 3+ years of leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or a related operational environment. Strong knowledge of dispatch operations, fleet utilization, transportation regulations, and safety requirements. Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with transportation management systems and AS400 is considered an asset. Post-secondary education in Business, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field is considered an asset.
