Dispatch/Logistics Manager
Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc./Johnny B Transport is a leading asphalt supplier and marketer in the Inland Northwest and Pacific Northwest Regions. With plants in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, California, and Arizona. IAS supplies and transports a diverse product line of asphalts, polymer-modified asphalt, and asphalt emulsions to the road maintenance and construction industry. Johnny B Transport is looking for an energized and flexible self-starter to fill a full-time opening for Dispatch/Logistics Manager in our North Salt Lake, Utah facility.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Dispatch/Logistics Manager 3, this position is responsible for calling customers, dispatching trucks, and data entry into our systems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Coordinate transportation assets.
- Ensure smooth product transportation to customers.
- Schedule timely shipments.
- Develop daily dispatch report.
- Assess customer requirements and assign trucks.
- Communicate regularly with cross-functional divisions.
- Process return loads.
- Review reports and other paperwork regularly.
- Supervise, support, and provide guidance to the Transportation staff.
- Address complex dispatch and logistics issues.
Required Skills/Abilities:
To be a strong fit for this opportunity you will have:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience Dispatching and customer service. We are willing to train candidates who are eager to launch a career with Idaho Asphalt Supply
- Computer proficiency and with Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- The ability to perform basic arithmetic operations accurately (add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages)
- Communicate in English (orally and in writing), including proficient telephone communication skills.
- Be able to work out in the weather during all times of the year.
- Be able to walk on, or work on an open grated cat walk 50 feet high
- Be able to work in enclosed or confined spaces (tanks)
