Dispatch Assistant / Load Updater

We are growing and looking for a dependable, detail-oriented dispatch assistant to keep our drivers, loads, and customers up to date. Position Summary The Dispatch Assistant / Updater supports our dispatch team by tracking active loads, communicating with drivers, and keeping brokers and customers informed on load status. You will be the point of contact for shipment updates, so accuracy, timeliness, and clear communication are essential. Responsibilities Monitor active loads and track driver progress in real time using GPS/ELD and tracking tools Contact drivers for regular check-ins and collect ETAs, location updates, and pickup/delivery status Send timely updates to brokers, shippers, and receivers Update load information in our TMS and dispatch systems Notify dispatchers immediately of delays, breakdowns, detention, missed appointments, or other issues Confirm pickup and delivery appointments and document check-in/check-out times Collect and organize rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, and other load documents Assist dispatchers with booking loads, load boards, and driver follow-ups as needed Maintain accurate, organized load records and notes Report accidents, cargo issues, or compliance concerns to management promptly Requirements Strong written and verbal English communication skills Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Basic computer skills (Excel/Google Sheets, email, messaging apps) Reliable and responsive, with strong attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in trucking, dispatch, freight brokerage, or logistics Familiarity with TMS software, load boards (DAT, Truckstop), and ELD/GPS platforms Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and hours-of-service basics Pay: From $72,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
