Full Job Description Job Title: Dispatch Agent - Trucking Industry Location: Elk Grove Village, IL Job Type: Full-time Pay: $52,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year, with additional performance-based incentives Benefits: Health insurance Paid time off, including vacation and sick time Six paid holidays annually Job Summary: We are seeking a highly connected and motivated Dispatch Agent to join our rapidly growing trucking company. The ideal candidate will not only support our drivers and ensure efficient freight movement but also actively leverage their industry connections to drive substantial business growth. This role is integral to our expansion efforts, and the successful candidate will be rewarded with significant incentives tied to their ability to bring in new business and enhance operational success. Key Responsibilities: Business Development: Actively use and expand your network of industry contacts to secure new clients, broker relationships, and business opportunities. Your connections will be a key driver of the company's growth. Driver Support: Provide exceptional, timely support to drivers, maintaining positive and effective communication through phone calls and system messages to enhance driver satisfaction and retention. Freight Management: Oversee and manage freight movement to ensure timely pickups and deliveries, exceeding customer expectations. Load Optimization: Plan and assign loads strategically to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Issue Resolution: Proactively resolve any issues that may affect delivery schedules, such as mechanical problems, traffic, weather, or customer-directed changes, while maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders. Safety Compliance: Foster a strong safety culture by organizing and monitoring hours of service / ELD, Collaboration: Work closely with the customer service and sales teams to create comprehensive solutions for clients, ensuring a customer-centric approach to all operations. Reporting: Accurately report any driver discipline incidents and maintain thorough records of all dispatch activities. Multitasking Qualifications: Required: minimum of 2 years of dispatch experience in the transportation/logistics industry. Networking Skills: Proven ability to build and leverage industry connections to generate new business and enhance company profitability. Strong multitasking capabilities with excellent communication and organizational skills. Self-motivated problem solver with a proactive approach to meeting customer needs and exceeding expectations. Ability to work across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends, to meet operational demands. Proficient in using advanced dispatch equipment and software.
