POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Supply Chain will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and daily executive oversight across the BRC Group of Companies supply chain, procurement, inventory management, and logistics operations including, but not limited to, BRC and Woodlore. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, they will directly manage mid to senior level leadership across Purchasing, Inventory Management, and Logistics. The Director will drive end-to-end supply chain efficiency, optimize vendor and freight carrier relationships, ensure total inventory accuracy, streamline inbound/outbound material flows, enforce strict Health & Safety and 5S/Lean standards, execute cost-control initiatives, and foster a positive, high-performing team environment. RESPONSIBILITIES In partnership with executive leadership, establish and maintain the overall strategic vision, operational objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives across end-to-end supply chain operations. Direct management oversight of manager-level positions including Purchasing Director, Inventory Manager, and Logistics Manager. Champion all Health and Safety awareness and legislation compliance; actively participate with the JHSC, HR, and the H&S Manager to create an accident-free workplace and ensure strict adherence to SOPs, Fit for Duty, safe forklift operations, and warehouse security protocols across all facilities. Oversee total inventory control and warehouse operations, including receiving, material handling, picking, replenishment, scheduled cycle counts, and year-end inventory audits across all plant and warehouse locations. Direct responsibility and oversight for monitoring total dollar amounts, valuation, and capital exposure held across all raw material, component, and commodity inventory categories. Review inventory variance tracking and root-cause analyses to ensure prompt reporting of significant discrepancies to Finance, implementing corrective action plans to maintain high inventory accuracy. Direct transportation and freight planning for customer orders, managing inbound/outbound traffic, courier shipments, and trailer load optimization to maximize capacity and minimize shipping costs. Lead freight partner development and negotiation to achieve annualized freight cost reductions (target 3% annualized savings on Gross Sales vs. Freight Costs), minimize shipping damages, and manage timely carrier claims. Establish and maintain robust purchasing, vendor management, and strategic sourcing initiatives to ensure high-quality material availability, competitive pricing, and reliable lead times. Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Facilities, Customer Experience, and Finance departments to ensure on-time order fulfillment, seamless communication, and alignment with operational targets. Drive continuous improvement by applying Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies across all warehouse, inventory, and logistics operations. Develop and monitor functional performance against operational targets, analyzing daily, monthly, and annual KPIs to drive financial performance against departmental budgetary commitments. Administer staffing, performance management, training, and succession planning in accordance with HR policies while maintaining high team morale and a strong business ethic.
