The Opportunity We are seeking a hands-on financial leader who can bring structure to complex accounting operations, strengthen financial reporting, and transform dependable financial data into actionable business intelligence. This is a builder’s role: you will personally resolve challenging accounting issues, lead and develop Finance and Procurement teams, establish documented and scalable processes, and partner with the COO and other senior leaders on business decisions. Veeya operates across two complementary business models: recurring-revenue Managed Services and project-based Professional Services, including structured cabling, networking, AV, and infrastructure installations. Our financial leader must understand the distinct economics and accounting requirements of each while building consolidated reporting, strong controls, and forward-looking financial intelligence, not simply overseeing bookkeeping. What You Will Own Accounting and close. Own GAAP-aligned financial statements, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, GL, AP/AR, payroll accounting, compliance calendars, internal controls, and timely completion of financial obligations. Project accounting and revenue recognition. Independently apply ASC 606 to project contracts, including determining when over-time recognition is appropriate; administer cost-to-cost progress calculations, costs to complete, work-in-progress schedules, contract assets and liabilities, and over/under-billings analysis. Job costing and financial systems. Lead QuickBooks Online Advanced and QBO Projects implementation and operation; accurately capture materials, subcontractors, field labor, and other project costs, and reconcile project reporting to the general ledger and payroll. Business-unit financial intelligence. Establish separate management reporting for Managed Services and Professional Services, with transparent, consistent shared-cost allocations and consolidated results. Analyze recurring revenue, project margins, labor economics, and performance against plan. Budgeting, planning, and treasury. Lead revenue-first, zero-based business-unit budgets; provide a rolling 13-week cash forecast, 12–18-month outlook, scenario analysis, working-capital guidance, and actionable recommendations. Coordinate lenders, line-of-credit reporting, financing, and surety/bonding support. Payroll, inventory, and multistate tax. Oversee certified payroll and Davis-Bacon prevailing-wage reporting, including timely weekly submissions where required. Maintain inventory accounting controls for project materials, field usage, and customer-funded stock. Coordinate federal, state, and local compliance with outside advisers, including Arizona TPT, sales/use tax, multistate nexus assessments, applicable state franchise and income taxes, payroll obligations, and 1099 reporting.
