Job Responsibilities: The Director of Business Operations is responsible for oversight of school and personnel operations management for continuous improvements to school processes and procedures by developing, managing and monitoring systems that provide efficiency and effectiveness for the day-to-day operations. Provide an excellent customer service experience for all stakeholders (students, parents, staff, community, board members, and staff). Duties include but are not limited to: School Nutrition Director (49%) o Oversees all aspects of the National School Breakfast and Lunch programs for Durham Charter School and school sites. o Administers the school meal program in accordance to local, state, and federal policies o Oversees procurement, financial administration, menu planning, recipe development, nutrition education, warehouse/storage management, and training coordination. o Builds relationships and works with school vendors for procurement purposes o Supervises cafeteria manager and staff; responsible for hiring nutrition staff o Ensures all state reporting is submitted in a timely manner o Ensure the nutrition program is operating at maximum capacity Payroll/Human Resources (26%) o Onboarding and orientation of all new staff o Manage payroll data for staff; process monthly payroll log and benefits o Responsible for all employment documentation and keeper of employee files o Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local employment laws and policies o Oversee all contracted staff and related paperwork o Assist faculty with teacher licensure processes o Manage all vendor relationships and procurement processes o Manage all employee benefits as benefits administrator o Lead investigator for all employee grievances Business Operations (25%) o Ensure that the school is adhering to all state and local compliance and reporting requirements (Ex. PMR monthly report) o Responsible for school purchasing and procurement. This includes reconciliation of department purchases. o Works closely with ED to manage school budget o Bridges executive leadership and departmental execution o Responsible for depositing of school funds and management of all cash handling processes o Responsible for the timely processing of all invoices and purchase orders o Works closely with school’s accounting, attorney, insurance broker, and auditing firms Direct Reports: School Nutrition Cafeteria Manager(s) and staff Qualifications: Ability to work independently with little to no supervision Must possess time management skills and be conscientious of time sensitive matters Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Possess attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Highly confidential with the ability to handle sensitive matters Ability to adjust and adapt quickly to changing priorities and conditions Ability to develop and implement systems and processes to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of a growing school Experience with managing teams and projects A…
