Bristol Management ServicesSummary/Objective: As a valued member of our team, the Maintenance Bit Crew is responsible for performing 90-day BIT inspections, preventive maintenance, and post-inspection repairs to ensure company vehicles and equipment remain safe, reliable, and compliant with CHP, BIT, DOT, and company requirements. This position is required to travel to Company locations throughout Southern California to support fleet and equipment maintenance needs. The position maintains accurate inspection, DVIR, repair, and work-order documentation; performs lube, oil, filter, and other assigned maintenance services. Supervisory Responsibilities : None Essential Functions: Conduct 90-day BIT Inspections in accordance with applicable requirements. Complete post-inspection repairs and document all inspection findings and corrective actions. Perform lube oil and filter services on company vehicles and equipment. Ensures vehicles meet CHP/BIT/PM inspection requirements. Maintain appropriate record keeping, Bit inspections, DVIRs, work done description and work orders. Provide hands-on support for general maintenance operations, including spill response, road calls, driving duties, and other urgent situations as needed. Complete all maintenance duties as assigned, and repair all equipment on property including, but not limited to, diesel, plant, or yard equipment. Efficient communication and computer skills for proper file documentation on each job performed. Perform routine and preventive maintenance to keep vehicles and equipment in compliance with DOT and company standards. Basis tools needed to effectively do inspections and mechanical repairs to equipment and routine preventive services. Knowledge and ability to identify the proper name of all visible parts in a vehicle. Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance. Track and schedules with operations or manager on vehicles status and updates. Non-Essential Duties: Efficient skills for scheduling and periodization of jobs. Ability to perform required preventive maintenance services. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Core Competencies: Ability to read and interpret documents. Basic math and measurement skills. Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment utilized in maintenance repair Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. General days and hours of work are Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday hours to be determined. Not eligible for remote work. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Required: Travel between Southern California plant locations as needed. Travel to Company locations in Reno Nevada, and Sacramento California may also be required based on operational needs. Minimum Education and Experience High school diploma. 2+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience. 2+ years experience of work on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Must have own tools. Preferred Education and Experience Associates degree, technical school certificate or equivalent experience. 3+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience. 3+ years experience of work on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. 1+ years experience welding.
