Hoover Hauling LLCDiesel Mechanic / Mobile Fleet Mechanic Hoover Hauling LLC – Huntertown / Fort Wayne, IN Pay: $25.00–$32.50 per hour Job Type: Full-Time, W-2 Expected Hours: 40–50 hours per week Company Vehicle: Take-home mobile service truck provided About the Position Hoover Hauling LLC is seeking an experienced and dependable Diesel Mechanic / Mobile Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our company-owned fleet of semi trucks and trailers. This is a hands-on fleet position. You will work directly on Hoover Hauling equipment and help keep our trucks safe, reliable, and on the road. We are looking for someone who can diagnose problems, make quality repairs, work independently, and respond to roadside equipment issues when necessary. Compensation $25.00–$32.50 per hour , based on experience, knowledge, and ability. This is a W-2 employee position with approximately 40–50 hours per week . We are also willing to discuss a guaranteed weekly minimum so the right mechanic has dependable weekly income if workload does not provide a full 40 hours. Take-Home Mobile Service Truck A company mobile service truck will be provided and may be taken home by the mechanic. The service truck will be used for normal fleet maintenance as well as roadside repairs when Hoover Hauling trucks experience mechanical issues away from the shop. Schedule The schedule for this position will vary based on our trucking operation. Because our equipment is working throughout the week, maintenance and repairs sometimes need to be completed when trucks return from runs or become available. Hours may change depending on: Current maintenance workload When equipment returns to the shop Scheduled preventative maintenance Unexpected breakdowns Roadside service needs Repairs needed to get equipment back on the road We are looking for someone who understands the trucking industry and is comfortable with a flexible work schedule rather than a strict Monday–Friday 8:00–5:00 schedule. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel-powered semi trucks Perform preventative maintenance and routine services Respond to roadside breakdowns involving Hoover Hauling equipment Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems Brake, suspension, steering, and air-system repairs Electrical and HVAC troubleshooting and repairs Oil changes, filters, fluids, and general services Trailer maintenance and repairs Assist with DOT inspections and compliance-related repairs Troubleshoot warning lights and fault codes Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records Identify potential problems before they cause breakdowns Help minimize equipment downtime Fleet Our fleet includes: International RH613 Day Cabs Peterbilt 579 Trucks Cummins Engines International A26 Engines PACCAR MX-13 Engines 53' Dry Van Trailers Flatbed Trailers Qualifications Preferred candidates will have: Previous diesel, heavy-truck, or semi-truck mechanic experience Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently Experience with air brakes and heavy-truck systems Ability to perform roadside repairs when necessary Basic personal hand tools Good communication and organizational skills Dependable transportation and attendance Pride in performing repairs correctly and safely CDL is a plus but is not required.
