Diesel Mechanic I Fleet Maintenance I Semi Trucks

We are a trucking company looking for an experienced diesel mechanic to maintain our own fleet only . We do not repair trucks for outside customers or other fleets. You will work on the same trucks regularly, so you will know their history and can focus on doing the job right the first time. This is not a high pressure, high-volume repair shop. We value quality workmanship over rushing and you will have the time to diagnose properly and fix problems correctly. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) services on tractors and trailers Diagnose and repair engine, air, brake, suspension, drivetrain and cooling system issues Perform valve adjustments and other engine services Complete DOT inspections and correct any defects found Repair issues reported by drivers in a timely, thorough manner Keep accurate maintenance records, work orders and inspection documentation Help plan maintenance schedules with the fleet manager to minimize downtime Track parts and supplies and report inventory needs Follow all safety procedures and keep your work area and service truck clean and organized What We’re Looking For 3+ years of heavy-duty diesel repair experience on Class 8 trucks Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA inspection requirements Experience with Detroit engine platforms Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Good communication skills with drivers, fleet managers and coworkers Reliable, professional, and committed to safety and quality Own basic hand tools Schedule Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Pay $30 - $50 per hour , based on experience and qualifications.
