Duties Conduct comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals. Perform repairs and maintenance on construction machinery, farm equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment to ensure reliable operation. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify machinery components. Troubleshoot equipment issues such as suspension problems, alignment concerns, tire service needs, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment to minimize downtime and extend service life. Assist in assembly and disassembly of machinery parts during repairs or upgrades with precision and safety in mind. Support heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate rigging techniques and heavy equipment operation skills. Conduct welding and soldering tasks for component repairs or custom fabrication projects. Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering solutions that meet operational needs. Experience Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician with dealership or industrial background preferred. Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, brake repair, transmissions, suspensions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC systems. Hands-on experience with construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other heavy equipment. Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical systems troubleshooting. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently during maintenance or repair tasks. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and diagnostic devices for automotive and industrial repairs. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues quickly. Prior dealership experience or service technician background is highly desirable. Ability to lift heavy components safely during repairs while adhering to safety protocols. Strong customer service orientation with clear communication skills to explain technical issues effectively.
