Diesel Mechanic

DIESEL MECHANIC - TRAVEL REQUIRED American Fence Company is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team of industry professionals, based out of our corporate headquarters in La Vista, NE. With operations in seven states across the Midwest, this position requires weekday travel with overnight stays approximately one to two weeks per month (per diem provided). The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing diagnostic, repair, and maintenance work of vehicles and equipment. The candidate must provide their own tools adequate to perform job functions and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Responsibilities Inspect vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, braking systems, and exhausts Complete routine preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and service trucks Run diagnostic testing and analyze results Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and equipment Collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs Maintain accurate records of all repairs Maintain safe and clean work area Required Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel and gas engines in light duty pickups to Class 8 trucks Willing to travel regularly Proficiently repairs hydraulic and air brakes, fuel systems, etc. Competently performs in-frame repairs and overhaul rebuilds Must provide own tools Valid driver's license and clean driving record required Compensation & Benefits $32 - $37 per hour No weekends Lodging and travel per diem provided Paid time off Health, dental, and vision plans Optional disability and life insurance 401k with company match About American Fence Company We believe in promoting from within and providing growth opportunities for dedicated and hardworking individuals.
