Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) guidelines. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignment checks, and equipment inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend machinery lifespan. Troubleshoot complex issues on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other construction machinery using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and electrical diagnostics tools. Fabricate parts or modify existing components when necessary to ensure proper fit and function during repairs or upgrades. Operate heavy equipment safely during troubleshooting or repair processes while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; interpret schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues. Assist with welding, soldering, heavy lifting tasks, and other mechanical duties required for effective equipment maintenance. Experience Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician within a dealership or industrial setting. Familiarity with OEM parts replacement procedures and automotive diagnostics for diesel engines. Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics, hydraulic systems troubleshooting, HVAC systems in heavy equipment, and suspension alignment. Knowledge of schematics interpretation for electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical layouts. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts or excavators safely during repair activities. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
