Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment, including class 8 trucks, medium duty box truck, roll off trailers, dry van trailers and any thing in between. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity of our machinery and vehicles. This position offers an exciting opportunity for mechanics with a passion for heavy equipment and a commitment to excellence in service. This role is for In shop repairs. with the possibility to do some on site pm inspections for a few of our fleet customers. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, electrical systems, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension, and HVAC systems using schematics and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on our fleet customer trucks and trailers. basic electrical skills are needed. Fabricate custom parts or modifications as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques. Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by analyzing mechanical and electrical problems to determine root causes. Service and repair OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) equipment and farm machinery while adhering to manufacturer specifications. Conduct tire services, brake repairs, alignment checks, and suspension work to maintain safety standards. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and ensure compliance with safety protocols at all times. Qualifications Air brakes mechanics certification for the state or higher is required or the able to obtain the certification in a timely manner is a must. Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment service background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in heavy truck diagnostics and electrical diagnostics. Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex electrical and hydraulic systems. Proficiency in welding, fabrication, assembly, and the use of hand tools and power tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment such as excavators or loaders when necessary. the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
