Diesel Mechanic

Orange County Transit LLC is seeking experienced or highly motivated Diesel Mechanics to maintain and repair our school bus fleet at our Middletown, NY location. In this role, you will work on Gas and Diesel Type A, B, and C buses, ensuring our vehicles remain safe and reliable for the students we transport. Have limited mechanical experience? What You Will Do: Regularly perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on small and large school buses. Troubleshoot and repair diesel and gasoline engines, air/hydraulic brakes, and A/C systems. Utilize company-provided computers and diagnostic software for electronic troubleshooting. Perform thorough DOT inspections and diagnostic testing to ensure strict safety compliance. Keep a clean, safe, and efficient workspace. Qualifications: Experience: Hands-on experience with Diesel engines, Air/Hydraulic Brakes, A/C systems, and DOT standards. Tools: Must possess your own set of tools (Diagnostic computer and software are provided by the company). Skills: Proficient in electronic diagnosis and repairs. Electrical repair experience is a major plus. License: CDL license required (We will train and help you obtain your license if you do not have one) . Certifications: ASE certification is preferred but not required. Requirements: Must be able to pass a physical and drug testing. Mindset: A strong drive, interest in new vehicle technology, and a willingness to undergo continuous training.
