Diesel Mechanic

Barber Trucking is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic/Equipment Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivating, and be able to perform repairs in a timely and thorough manner while minimizing reworks and adhering to company maintenance schedules. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment. Keep reworks to a minimum and follow company maintenance schedules. Maintain accurate maintenance and inventory records for new and used parts. Perform state DOT inspections and preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and equipment. Understand warranties and manage schedules accordingly. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including sweeping and trash removal. Be on call for emergencies as needed. Assist with driver retention by resolving related issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; Technical school or vocational training in diesel mechanics is a plus. Minimum of 2(+) year of experience as a diesel mechanic, with experience working on commercial tractor-trailers. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment. Possession of own tools preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety. Cummins knowledge preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
