Duties Duties include but are not limited to the following: Maintain assigned delivery vehicle in a clean and mechanically sound condition Conduct pre-trip inspections in accordance with DOT guidelines; document in logbooks as required Safely transport product to customer locations while complying with DOT and State Highway regulations Communicate with customer receivers upon arrival and follow their direction for unloading procedures Offload bulk loads or position van trailers for forklift unloading as directed Report any vehicle damage or repair needs discovered during inspections or deliveries Stay current with changing DOT regulations and ensure compliance Safety & food safety trainings Minimum Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma Willingness to work all shifts and weekends when required Maintain a current "Commercial Driver’s License"; Class A CDL Maintain a current DOT physical card Minimum of 2 year over the road commercial driving experience; Dry Bulk truck driver, pneumatic tank experience plus!!! Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check Must be willing and able to travel to Canada and follow the requirements of that travel Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of DOT and state transportation regulations Safe and defensive driving skills, with a commitment to road and delivery safety Mechanical aptitude for conducting pre-trip inspections and identifying maintenance needs Excellent communication and customer service skills for interacting with clients and receivers Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing delivery routes or schedules Proficient in completing required documentation such as logbooks, inspection checklists, and delivery records Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs) and complete manual tasks during deliveries Comfortable working in varied weather and environmental conditions Physical Demands Physically able to perform all requirements including but not limited to: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to climb stairs and access trailer tops or interior as needed Manual dexterity to complete logbooks, inspection forms, and transport documents Stamina for extended driving and physical delivery tasks Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
